In August 2009, the cre8ate maths team agreed it was time for an overhaul of the site. Tintisha worked hard to develop and design not only new and improved graphics for the website, but also some new functionality which would improve user interaction and help to increase both new and return visits to the website. 5 weeks later and the cre8ate maths website has been launched, and we are all looking forward to see the increase in site usage over the next few months.
Heres a quick summary of what the new site includes:
- Testimonials from the cre8ate maths users to entice new signups.
- Tag cloud which makes it easy for teachers to find resources on or about a particular maths subject/keyword.
- Resource pages which contain PDF, Word, Excel and .Zip downloads.
- Interactive Flash games and activities
- 'Trial Materials' area for designated users to trial materials on the website before they are made publicly available.
- Links to related websites.
- Interactive Flash map detailing participating schools.
- Custom administration area for the cre8ate maths team to edit and maintain the website.
The website has been built using the Drupal content management system (cms). Drupal is a fast and flexible way to build largescale websites which require heavy customisation, security and stability. Once again our decision to build yet another website using Drupal has been a good one!
